Fundraizer is a platform exclusively designed for and intended to be used by individuals who are 18 years of age or older and who possess the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements. This age restriction is strictly enforced to comply with legal requirements and to ensure a mature and responsible user base for financial transactions and campaign management.

Campaigns Involving Minors:

  • Notwithstanding the general age restriction, we understand that certain fundraising campaigns may be created for the benefit of, or may feature the inclusion of, a minor (defined as any individual under the age of 18).
  • In any instance where a minor is involved in a Fundraizer campaign, whether they are the direct beneficiary, the subject of the fundraising effort, or a key figure mentioned or visually represented in the campaign materials, it is a mandatory and non-negotiable requirement that the minor's parent or legal guardian must provide clear, explicit, and verifiable written consent.

Requirements for Parental/Guardian Consent:

  • Direct Involvement: Consent is required if the minor is starting, attempting to start, or is the named object or primary focus of the campaign (e.g., a campaign for a minor's medical expenses or educational fund).
  • Verifiability: The consent must be easily verifiable by Fundraizer staff. This typically involves the guardian submitting a signed consent form, providing proof of their guardianship (e.g., a birth certificate or court document), and acknowledging full responsibility for the campaign's content and management.
  • Guardian Responsibilities: The consenting parent or legal guardian assumes full legal and financial responsibility for the campaign, including ensuring compliance with all Fundraizer Terms of Service, managing all funds raised, and adhering to all applicable laws regarding the protection of minors.
  • Content Review: Fundraizer reserves the right to request additional documentation and to review all campaign content pertaining to minors to ensure it is appropriate, respectful, and fully compliant with child protection standards. Campaigns found to be non-compliant or lacking adequate consent will be immediately removed and funds may be frozen or returned.

By using Fundraizer, all users affirm that they meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years, or, if involving a minor, that they have secured and will provide the necessary parental or legal guardian consent upon request. Failure to comply with this policy will result in the immediate suspension or termination of the campaign and the associated user account. If the need arises, the violation will be elevated and dealt with in full accordance with the laws of Liberia.
